Wednesday Morning Musings

I'm sitting here, waiting for my coffee to brew and realizing that I have tried and failed several times over the last five days or so to come up with something to write.  That brings me back to my occasional technique for blasting through writer's block:  just type.  So I'm typing.  I don't have any particular new stories about my kids, who are usually the best source of entertaining material for this blog.  I should let them know that my readers are disappointed in them.  But, then again, it's not that they haven't been entertaining.  Just nothing that makes a good written story.  Lots of little snippets of interesting behavior.  For example, yesterday Ladybug made up a new game when E got home from class:  she would purposely run face-first into his leg, then cover her mouth with her hand and say, "Oops!  I sorry, Daddy!"  then immediately do it again after she has been told, "It's Okay".  Apparently she wanted some attention!  As for Baby Duck, well, she has been in what I will call a phase.  A phase where she waits less than five seconds to repeat whatever action has just been denounced by me.  Scenario:  "Baby Duck, no shrieking in the house."  Baby Duck then looks me square in the eye and shrieks again, then laughs to try to trick me into thinking it's funny, not disobedient.  "Time Out!"  Baby Duck now shrieks again out of fury at being disciplined.  So, like I said, a phase.  I hope!
Other than that, I am caught in an endless cycle of dishes that keep multiplying in my sink no matter what I do to banish them.  That's all I've got going on, really.  I do dishes.
Now the coffee's done!  Peace, yo!
