One Nasty Ladybug
Back story: when Ladybug is being particularly foul and rude, I sometimes tell her to "quit being nasty".
Now on to the entertainment: Ladybug was in the playroom last night and wanted her dad to come play with her. She was calling for him, but he was working on the computer and not really responding. She got louder and more aggressive until finally I heard this little gem: "DADDY! YOU'RE MAKING ME NASTY!"
After we laughed a while I was able to compose myself enough to explain to E why she was saying that to him. It did not get any less funny.
Lest you think this sort of funny but guilt-inducing speech is saved only for E, let me tell you how Ladybug got herself out of having to take a nap on Sunday. She was back in her crib fussing for a while, which she does sometimes. When she seems to be tired enough, I just let her cry it out and fall asleep. This time, though, she had apparently reached her limit. While sobbing, she threw this verbal dagger: "Mommy, you're not very nice-a me!"
Yup. She won. I went in with a broken heart and said, "What did you say?"
"I all better now, Mommom. I all better."
She got to come out and snuggle with me and did not take a nap.
