I must say that for only having this dog for a few days, she is doing a pretty good job of going to the bathroom outside.  They say the trick is to take them to roughly the same spot every time so the dog can smell that it has reached the bathroom.  This popped into my head when I noticed that Starbuck had pooped on the same rug twice.  I made sure to clean it very well and spray lots of Febreeze on it.  Apparently, that is not sufficient.  I bought a Pointer.  She can smell anything.  She pooped there again.  And again.  So E and I agreed that we should get rid of the rug... and be creative about it. 
     The rug now resides in our backyard, marking off Starbuck's bathroom.  I took her outside where she made a beeline for the rug and peed on it straightaway.  I think we made the right call.
