(Not So) Organized Chaos
I don't even know where to begin. My head is spinning. I am back in the foggy-brained, sleep-deprived mode of a new mother since I am back to getting up (albeit with a dog, not a baby) in the middle of the night. It's amazing how truly terrible interrupted sleep is. It is of almost no value at all. I feel like a zombie.
Due to a surprise plumbing issue, I had to rip out some carpet and the pad underneath before work the other day. This meant that I had to move all furniture and toys into another room. Did I ever mention that Baby Duck got a pair of dwarf frogs in a little mini-aquarium? One of those self-sustaining things that only requires a couple of food pellets a week. Baby Duck named them Swimmy and Timmy-- which means I have had this song stuck in my head for weeks now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxY8p3b7EXs&feature=related.
Wow. It actually took a tremendous amount of effort to find a half decent link for that. That, and my children are being infuriatingly non-compliant with bedtime at the moment. My train of thought has been completely derailed. Off a bridge. Exploded on the rocks below.
Ummm..... so. Frogs. Yeah. I had to move them. I thought I found a secure location for them, but apparently not, as I discovered the busted aquarium on the floor with an abundance of brightly covered gravel... and no frogs. I immediately became concerned that my dog ate them, which I knew could potentially make her very sick. She seemed okay as I kept an eye on her, though. Then Ladybug apologized this morning for knocking them over. I was relieved to be able to corroborate that story by finding both frog corpses completely unchewed. She later told her sister she saw them hop away when she knocked them over. Sure wish she would have mentioned that to me, say, right when it happened!
I had several more jewels of information that would shed light on my currently disorganized life... alas, they were riding the aforementioned train. Better luck next time, I suppose.
