Night Of The Living Nail File

Several days ago I decided to purchase one of those nail filing contraptions for dogs.  I went with the PediPaws.  It then took me until today to get the batteries it required-- or should I say battery considering I already possessed one of the two C-Cell batteries it called for.
I followed the instructions it gave me on acclimating my pet to the presence and sound of the device long before attempting to do any actual filing.  Starbuck was interested and unafraid, so we moved on to the next step:  filing a bit of a claw.
That sucker is about as easy to control when it comes in contact with a surface as an angle grinder!  It would catch an edge in the blink of an eye.  To say the least, it nearly scared the crap out of the both of us!  The only reason I bought this thing in the first place was because I was afraid of nicking the quick with traditional pet nippers.  Now I was afraid of tearing the whole frakkin' thing off!  NO THANK YOU!
A brief examination of her claws showed me that they were the good kind: very light in color, making the much darker quick very visible.  I suddenly felt much more confident in my abilities to properly trim my dogs nails the old-fashioned way.  I think she will be glad to see this mini-chainsaw head back to the store!
